Since the tragic event of 9/11, the Boston Regional Intelligence Center (BRIC) has supplied intelligence to improve the Region’s counter-terrorism capacity. With support from federal partners, the BRIC has established an intelligence fusion environment. Each regional community has an assigned liaison to work with the BRIC daily. The BRIC is structured and centered on liaison-driven, collaborative information sharing between MBHSR communities, private sector stakeholders, universities, and state and federal partners.
The BRIC performs and coordinates regional homeland security protection and response missions through investigative and analytical activities. These activities directly correlate with Goal 3: Intel and Info Sharing and are vital to the Region’s ability to identify and interdict terrorist operations.
